2017 Annual Meeting
Beltrami Electric Cooperative held it's 77th annual meeting on Thursday, April 20, at the Bemidji High School. Around 625 members and guests attended the event at which Charlie Perkins, Craig Gaasvig and Rick Coe were elected to the cooperative board.
In District 2, Donald (Charlie) Perkins, Sr. ran unopposed and received 1,791 votes. Charlie replaces Lea Perkins, who served as director since 2005, and has reacher her term limit. The District 4 race saw Craig Gaasvig defeat Christina Regas 1,118-842. Gaasvig replaces longtime director Jerry Larson, who served three stints as a director from 1978-84, 1990-2002 and 2011-2017, and did not seek reelection. In District 6, incumbent director Rick Coe ran unopposed and received 1,801 votes.
Members attended the dinner and business meeting, which featured door prizes, the election, a financial update and presentations from Beltrami Electric CEO Jared Echternach and Minnkota Power Cooperative CEO Mac McLennan.
Next year's meeting is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, April 19, 2018 and will once again be held at Bemidji High School.
